SCOTT W. KUMLER, P.E.
Scott Kumler, P.E. currently holds a position in production management with Rubicon LLC, through which he maintains overall responsibility for unit safety, output, quality, and budgetary spending.
Scott began his career in 1987 through a management orientation program with Milliken and Company in Marietta, South Carolina, after which he became Production Supervisor. In September of 1989, Scott was promoted to Process Engineer, a position that he held through December of 1990. In January of 1991, he began employment with Rubicon LLC in Geismar, Louisiana as a Process Engineer. Scott was promoted to Process Development Engineer in January of 1992 and again to Senior Process Engineer in April of 1994. In March of 1997, he began work on a $90 million capital expansion as the Lead Process Engineer, where he was responsible for the process design of two new production units. Scott became Commissioning Manager during the startup of the expansion in April of 1999. Following a successful startup, he moved into a Process Engineering Supervisor position in March of 2000. Building on his commissioning experience, Scott moved into the MDI-III Area Superintendent position in January of 2001, where, in addition to his unit responsibilities, he coordinated the inventory and quality control of the site MDI production assets. In March of 2002, Scott became the Reductions / Effluent & Utilities Area Superintendent. During that time, he assumed the Chairmanship of the site Employee Safety Committee. From January of 2005 to present, Scott has been the Variants & MDI Shipping Area Superintendent, where, in addition to his unit responsibilities, he holds the chairmanship of the site employee Cost Awareness and Savings Team. Scott also provides corporate level customer support in the areas of polyurethane technology and product stewardship. Scott’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. However, he has taken advantage of every opportunity to further his knowledge during his career; including over 735 hours and 30.8 CEU’s of continuing education through various programs and courses. Scott is also a registered Professional Engineer in both chemical and environmental engineering.
Scott now resides in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with his wife, Julie, and their two children, Jordan and Ashley. In Scott’s spare time, he is a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, an assistant Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America, and a volunteer assistant coach with his children’s baseball and softball teams. His hobbies include golf, camping, hiking, snow skiing, and off-road motorcycling.
