KTM celebrates high-school intern
Anna Voelk, a senior at Riverside High School and intern at KTM Solutions, has been selected as a scholarship recipient by the Greenville Section of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Each year, the ASME Greenville Section awards the Norm Clayton Family Scholarship to up to three high-school seniors who demonstrate an interest in engineering, preferably mechanical engineering. Students must be a son, daughter, grandchild, or mentee of a member of the ASME Greenville Section and must enroll full-time in an accredited engineering program after they graduate. Thomas “Dev” Belflower, President of KTM Solutions, says, “Anna has been an excellent student who is eager to learn and prepare herself for her continued academic pursuit. She will be a valuable asset to any organization she belongs to and we look forward to watching her continue to grow as a student and as a person.”
Interns at KTM Solutions complete a training program that develops basic mechanical design and analysis skills and culminates in a design project and presentation. Through this program, KTM aims to assist in developing the next generation of mechanical engineers and to help students pursue their interests and make informed career decisions. Since 2006, more than 40 students have interned at KTM Solutions, and over 80% have pursued engineering careers.
